We invite you to join us at this FEBS advanced course on lipid research, held at the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School on the island of Spetses, Greece, on September 1 - 8, 2016. This course is a succession of a series successful courses, which is intended to provide an international venue to train young lipid researchers and bring them together with frontier lipid scientists from all over the world.
Course summary: Knowledge on the involvement of individual lipid species in biological processes is essential to understand the molecular basis of the involvement of lipids in essential physiologically relevant processes. In this advanced course we will explore the emerging and exiting field of the role of lipid species in intracellular membrane transport and organelle function. Leading experts including the 2013 Nobel Prize laureate dr. James E. Rothman will meet with young researchers to discuss basic and emerging topics. In addition, the lipid field is technically complex and recent technological advances will be addressed. Social interactions are an important aspect of the meeting.
